Aquae Curiva was the name by which this place was known during the Roman occupation of the Iberian peninsula.
In 1900, Sociedade das Águas da Curia (Society of Waters of Curia) was founded due to the initiative of Albano Coutinho.
The waters of this Thermal centre can be used for the treatment of metabolic/endocrine diseases, kidney stones and urinary infections, high blood pressure and rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders.

Notes

Besides the thermal baths, Curia Park also offers an hotel and an artificial lake.
