Its first version was ordered by Brazilians from S. Paulo. However, the present version, which is more imposing, was commissioned to celebrate the 1st centenary of Jaime Cortesão?s birth, in 1984.
Observations
Jaime Cortesão is the most illustrious person born in Ançã. He was a physician, poet, historian and philosopher and was the great driving force in the Portuguese Renaissance Movement
