Particularities

The Casa Municipal da Cultura is recognized as the most important noble residence in Cantanhede.

It was built at the end of the 18th century by João Henriques de Castro, Captain-Major of the city, and features a distinctive façade with the coats of arms of the Castro and Henriques families.

Extra Information

In 2016, A1V2-Engenharia Civil e Arquitetura, Lda. developed a rehabilitation project for the cultural complex, which includes the Casa Municipal da Cultura and the former Technical and Professional School of Cantanhede.

The project aimed to strengthen the physical and visual connection between the building and Largo Pedro Teixeira, improving urban integration and the functionality of the space.
