Gallius

Sangalhos, Anadia
Presentation

The toponym Sangalhos may have its origins in the cult of Sanctus Gallus/Sanchus Gállius. It was with this inspiration that a group of friends in Sangalhos, in 2001, decided to produce a sparkling wine, in a family winery, for their own consumption.

In 2007, family meetings were extended to several friends and production increased. In 2016, the initial hobby resulted in the formation of the company Gallius Vinhos, Lda., transforming partners into producers, bottlers and sellers. Its small cellar joined the construction of an air-conditioned pavilion, an underground cellar with constant temperature/humidity, where the rosé and reserve sparkling wines are aged for a minimum of 12 months before Dégorgement. In a world in constant transformation/maturation, we want to maintain unalterable all the quality to which we have become accustomed. We want to be a national reference in the Bairrada Demarcated Region!
