Romanesque temple built on top of an earlier one, located in the heart of the upper part of the city, opposite two university residences. Restoration work was carried out on the church in the 12th century, as confirmed by the inscription to the right of the main door, dated 1175, although part of the original structure has been preserved.
Over the centuries, it underwent several renovations and restructurings that ended up changing its character and leaving it hidden among the houses that were built next to it.
However, it still retains its Romanesque portal, with its octagonal column decorated with stylized flowers and scallops. Inside, the columns and capitals stand out, with zoomorphic decoration and geometric figures, as well as blue and white historical tiles, dating from the second half of the 18th century, made in Coimbra, with scenes alluding to the life of Christ and Our Lady.
