Manuel Alegre Public Library

This space welcomes readers of all ages, providing areas dedicated to reading, newspaper and magazine consultation, as well as regularly hosting cultural events such as exhibitions, storytelling sessions, and creative workshops.

The library is part of the Águeda Library Network, collaborating with various educational and cultural institutions in the region.

In addition to its vast bibliographic collection, the library offers multifunctional spaces for cultural and educational activities.

It features a multipurpose room, an auditorium, reading areas for adults and children, a newspaper and magazine consultation area, and an educational service aimed at schools and the general community.

 In addition to book lending, the library offers digital resources and internet access.

It is also integrated into the BiblioLED platform, allowing users to access a vast catalog of newspapers and magazines.

The Manuel Alegre Municipal Library stands out for its modern and functional architecture, combined with a diverse cultural program that includes activities for all age groups.

Its central location makes it easily accessible to both residents and visitors.

Founded in 1935 by Dr. Ferreira Lopes Baptista, the Águeda Popular Library evolved over the years, becoming the Manuel Alegre Library in 2014, after the inauguration of the new building.

This evolution reflects the ongoing commitment to promoting culture and education in the region.
