It is currently the cultural pole of Mealhadense with a show room used for the exhibition of films, theatre plays of national dimension, conferences, exhibitions, parties, both private and public, and other cultural events, such as the annual awards ceremony of the municipality sports or the new year's concert.

Particularities
This building has a typical Estado Novo design, in yellow and white, with a tower that stands out in the framework of the building. It is one of two buildings in the municipality with this type of architecture, the other being the Grande Hotel do Luso, in the spa town of Luso.
Shortly after its reinauguration, the entire surrounding area was recovered and landscaped, giving the theatre car parks and a new image to the town centre.
