This is a bronze sculpture by Celestino Alves André, which can be seen in the Largo Florindo José Frota, in front of the Parish Church of Febres.
It is a realistic piece of work which closely reproduces a very characteristic figure of the north-western area of the Municipality.
The trade of the pedlar goldsmiths dates back to the first decades of the 20th century, when the goldsmiths (on a bicycle and carrying their characteristic green bags) covered the whole country. Over the years, they settled in different parts of the country.
