Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM;

Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Except in the months of July, August, and the first half of September.

The library offers services such as a traveling library that visits all the parishes and an extension at Praia da Tocha during the summer period.

In addition, it provides a baby library and a library service at the hospital.

The library regularly organizes thematic exhibitions, reading sessions, and other cultural activities aimed at promoting reading and access to culture.

Founded from a donation by Archbishop D. João Crisóstomo de Amorim Pessoa, who in his will left 3,000 volumes to the City Hall, the library went through several changes of location before settling in its current building in 1992.

Since then, it has evolved to better serve the population, offering services such as a traveling library and an extension at Praia da Tocha during the summer.
