History
Built between 1848 and 1902 by Dr. Eduardo Caldeira, the Alta Vila Municipal Park is an excellent example of revivalist architecture, with strong romantic inspiration. This space reflects medieval influences, evident in the guardhouses and battlements carved into the surrounding walls, as well as in the internal structure, highlighted by artificial caves, a bandstand, and lakes surrounded by bridges.
The park's history is also marked by the presence of a stone and wood chalet, the residence of the former owners, and a hunting pavilion.
