The Ria, an open door to the Ocean, and its close connection to the sea, have always influenced Aveiro. To talk about the Ria is to talk about Aveiro, about its salt and its seas, about the moliço and the moliceiro boat whose colourful bows and feet give another life to the lagoon itself. In the region we can enjoy wonderful landscapes, namely a unique place in the Aveiro region, São Jacinto.
Distance from Bairrada Spaces
Curia: 81,7km - 1h10
Oliveira do Bairro: 65,3km - 1h03
São Jacinto beach has an extensive sandy area with fully equipped changing rooms, beach support (café) and access for people with physical limitations.
São Jacinto is limited to the East by the Ria, to the West by the Atlantic Ocean and to the North by the Natural Reserve of Dunas de S. Jacinto, a situation that gives it unique characteristics, because, in order to get to this place, you have to go by bus to Forte da Barra, following a beautiful crossing on the Ria de Aveiro by motorboat or by Ferry-Boat (where it is possible to cross by car).
