The Sé de Aveiro (Aveiro Cathedral), which was the former Church of Saint Dominic, dates back to the 15th century, and from that time only carved stone wall is left which nestles a Gothic image of the Virgin Mary. In 1938, it became the Cathedral of the Diocese of Aveiro. In the entrance gallery (galilee) there is the stone Cruzeiro de S. Domingos, sculpted in Flamboyant Gothic style. This Cathedral was altered several times, and therefore brings together various art styles: Mannerism, Baroque and Modernism.
