Torre de Anto

This is a mediaeval tower and it was part of the city?s fortified walls. It used to be known as Torre do Prior do Ameal and in the beginning of the 16th century it underwent major refurbishment, but its appearance has remained almost unchanged till this day. Anto Tower got its name from the poet António Nobre (1867-1900) who lived there at the end of the 19th century.
