António Ferreira Rocha was born in 1926, in Mealhada, and from an early age became interested in hotel management, enriching his knowledge on his journey to Angola. In 1961, he opened his first restaurant and, besides promoting Angolan specialties, he also focused on suckling pig (Leitão à Bairrada). In 1979 he opened Churrasqueira Rocha, where he focused his attention on grilled meats and Leitão à Bairrada.
Efficient service and the teamwork have maintained its longevity beyond the traditional confection. Since 2003, they have their own bread production, using traditional methods.
The house speciality is based on traditional gastronomy, the roast suckling pig being the emblematic dish.
