Casa dos Melo

The Casa dos Melo is a historic building located in the center of Coimbra, built in the second half of the 16th century by Duarte de Melo, a schoolmaster at the Sé de Coimbra. The building stands out for its façades, which display the coats of arms of Popes Clement VII and Paul III, simple apron windows, and a portal with a triangular pediment that leads to the entrance courtyard.
Observations
Currently, the Casa dos Melo belongs to the University of Coimbra and has been used for various academic purposes.
In 1911, it was handed over to the School of Pharmacy, which operated there until 2010.
Subsequently, the building was used by the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra.
