Monument to Portuguese Maritime Discoveries and Portuguese Universalism

It pays homage to the glorious times of maritime discoveries and was inaugurated in October 2005. At the same time, it makes a connection with the future, projecting hope in times to come. It was conceived by the master sculptor Lagoa Henriques.
