Alegre Hotel Bussaco

The Hotel was built in 1859 to be the holiday home of Count of Graciosa and was the first manor house to be built in Luso.

With the development of the land as a holiday destination for the rich and noble at the end of the 19th century, many noble or wealthy people built their own holiday home in Luso, giving the town an aristocratic and eclectic feel typical of the 'belle-époque'.

Even so, the Hotel building always maintained its binding situation over the wonderful landscape of the town, which someone once called the "Switzerland of Portugal".

Redeveloped as a hotel in 1939, it has been run by the Alegre family ever since. Today, this boutique hotel combines its history with contemporary comfort, available in 18 large rooms, all with heating, telephone, TV and some with terrace.

The pool, bar, private parking, gardens, restaurant and the views over Luso, Bussaco and Bairrada will provide you with memorable moments of comfort and pleasure.
