Sidónio de Sousa

It was the grandfather of Paulo Sousa, manager of the company, who started the business in the world of wines by purchasing, in the 1930s, an area of vineyards that he cultivated and vinified to sell the wine in bulk to cellars in the region.

In 1990, Sidónio, Paulo Sousa's father, began bottling Baga under his own brand. After 20 years in the quality department of one of the largest companies in the region, from 2009 onwards, Paulo Sousa dedicated himself 100% to the wine brand created by his father.

Today, there are 12 hectares of their own, expanding vineyards, planted in clay-limestone soil, in Ancas, Bairrada.
